Cacao Rituals
Cacao is also called the food of the Gods.
It is connected with the earth element, and stands for grounding and reconnecting with our essence, our heart space.
In cacao ceremonies we use this incredible superfood as a tool for setting intentions and working with prayers.
Cacao Ritual
Not only is cacao one of the most nutritious plants on the planet with lots of positive health benefits. It contains many antioxidants, minerals like magnesium and iron as well as healthy fats. Even more exciting are its effects on the human nervous system through its influence on our neurotransmitters.
High quality raw cacao increases the level of serotonin, our main happiness neurotransmitter and influences dopamine for pleasure and motivation and noradrenaline, another antidepressant. Another interesting ingredient is a substance called “anandamide”. It is good to know, that Ananda means bliss in Sanskrit.
Anandamide is a natural pleasure molecule, which is responsible for the effect of the so-called runner’s high. It also interferes with our pain perception and regulates our mood.
In the indigenous cultures of America people knew very well about these properties of raw cacao. And so they shared it as a beverage during religious ceremonies.
Cacao rituals are a wonderful tool for us to enter a space of connection. They can be held in various different forms, each of them are unique and dedicated to a specific topic or theme. The main goal here is to use the cacao with the power of intention and prayer. Please read more about the aspect of ceremony here.
A ceremony can combined with a singing circle, a dance ritual, a breathwork ceremony or personalised rituals. (Abundance Ritual, Birthday Blessing, Love Celebrations)
